Project Layout

Following submissions to the EIS during the public display period, some minor changes to the Project design were incorporated to ensure its environmental credentials. The figure below is included to provide an understanding of what the development will look like at full production. Features of note include:

• exclusion in south-east corner - this will ensure the integrity of the southern drainage on the site is maintained (see section on Environmental Management for more details),
• water treatement plant in north-eastern corner - this will be utilised only if discharges of surface water runoff are required, and will be limited to a maximum of 1ML/day on those days that it is required,
• provision of Newnes Junction town water - any treated discharges will first be delivered to the water tank at the top of the hill near Newnes Junction to provide a town water supply to residents, and
• WHA buffer - a minimum of 70m will be left as a buffer between the edge of the development and the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.
