Glass Fibre Reinforcement will comprise 10.0% of Kaolin products and 0.9% of all products produced by the Project at full production levels.

Kaolin can be used in the production of glass-fibre products (e.g. printed circuit boards) by reinforcing the glass fibres in the matrix.

Growth in demand for glass fibre materials is expected to average 4% p.a. and the kaolin component demand will grow similarly. Fibreglass manufacturers of Japan, Taiwan, and Korea alone, for the production of computer motherboards, consume 200,000 tpa of kaolin, creating a strong export market in the South-East Asia region.

The price of kaolin used for use in glass fibre reinforcement ranges from AUD200-300.
